I believe that God is always teaching us something. He is constantly working to make us better. It's our job to learn the lessons, and apply them to our lives. So here's what God is teaching me right now -
1. Trust Him always! I have recently been hurt by someone very close to me. I am working on rebuilding my trust in them. But the first lesson in that is that God is the one I should be putting my trust in. People will always fail me. God is the only one that is faithful. I don't mean this in a "I don't trust anyone" kind of way. But I mean it in more of a - God is faithful, and I need to trust Him first and always! Our of that, He will teach me to trust others again.
2. I don't need to see the whole picture, I'm only responsible for my next step. I am the type of person that wants all the answers right now. I want God to show me where our next move is, and all the steps to get there. But that's not always what He wants to show me. He wants me to focus on the here and now. I am responsible for trusting Him, and moving to the next step that He leads me to. I don't need to see the whole picture, only trust in the One that does.
3. I need to work on me. Yes, someone hurt me greatly, and they have many lessons to learn (in addition to the ones they already have), but I have many things to learn also. I am not blameless. I have issues too. And I need to let God work on me.
4. To have friends I must be a friend. I need to be the friend that I want to have. Instead of getting upset that friends do or don't do certain things, I need to treat them the way I want them to treat me.
5. My children are a blessing from God. It is my job to teach them, love them, and guide them. I am truly blessed with each of my kids, and would consider it a blessing to have more! They are my "job" right now, and I need to do a better job!
I am so thankful that God takes the time to teach us how to be the people He wants us to be. He is always faithful! And He doesn't just leave us to figure it out on our own. He is there every step of the way! Praise God!!
